Warehouse Working

Title
Warehouse Working
Description
I keep seeing everyone’s quarantined posts, and it’s weird for me. I find myself almost envious at times. For those who don’t know, I work for Amazon in their warehouses for about 2.5 years. They have taken measures, and things are different at work. However, my day to day schedule and life has changed minimally all things considered. Before this all happened I already ordered my groceries online and didn’t leave home unless I got some drive through food. I still wake up at the same time and go to work with the same schedule and work with the same people. Many are scared. I think what is the weirdest side to all this, for some of us, is that in many ways life didn’t change. Extra steps are being taken, but the job we are doing is the same. There is a surreal quality that life has taken. I find that I, and I’m sure many others, are cycling through anxiety, depression, and a weird sense of calm and consistency. It’s hard, we still feel the strain, and are thankful to still have a job. But warehouse working isn’t a small work force. Shit is still scary. To all my Amazon people, do your best, use that free UPT if you need to, and take care of yourselves!
